Mr. Balerna started Alpha Investment Advisors, Inc. in late 1999 and began asset management services in January of 2000. He is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts with a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and received his Master of Science in Finance Degree from the McCallum Graduate School of Business at Bentley College.
In addition to the academic degrees that Mr. Balerna holds, over his career he has sat for and passed the Series 6 exam (Investment Company/Variable Contracts Representative), Series 7 exam (General Securities Representative), Series 63 exam (Uniform Securities Agent State Law), and the Series 65 exam (Uniform Investment Advisor). He also sat for and passed Level 1 of the Chartered Financial Analyst® Exam in late 2005.
Prior to founding Alpha Investment Advisors, Inc., Gene spent ten years in the financial services industry with the most recent five years as a Financial Advisor for Quick & Reilly Inc./Fleet Bank. At Quick & Reilly, Gene was responsible for investing client assets in a manner consistant with their stated goals and objectives. This was accomplished using a multitude of investment products that would minimize risk while maximizing returns. Portfolios were monitored on an on-going basis and clients were consulted regularly to confirm that the portfolio was consistant with their current goals and to provide opportunities for feedback.
